CARE Palestine (West Bank/Gaza) is looking for a committed professional to the values of Transformation, Integrity, Diversity, Equality, and Excellence to fill the following vacancy:
Nutritionist
The Nutritionist will assist in the daily implementation of all nutrition activities carried out by CARE PHCC in Dair Al Balah. They will provide technical support to the team and ensure that nutrition services are delivered to the most vulnerable groups, including children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers, with high quality and by national protocols and guidelines established by the nutrition cluster.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily implementation of quality nutrition services at the CARE PHCC in Dair Al Balah.
- Provide nutritional support to vulnerable groups, including children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
- Implement therapeutic and preventive nutrition plans to reduce malnutrition.
- Enhance nutritional knowledge among individuals and communities through awareness and education sessions.
- Conduct nutritional surveys.
- Collect data on nutritional status using established survey tools.
- Analyze data to identify the most at-risk groups.
- Provide nutritional supplements to target groups, such as children under five, and pregnant and lactating women.
- Offer nutritional consultations and therapeutic support services.
- Collaborate with medical teams to integrate health and nutrition services.
- Track patient progress through biweekly and monthly reports.
- Evaluate program impact using predefined indicators, such as malnutrition rates.
- Prepare periodic reports highlighting progress and challenges.
- Develop future intervention plans based on evaluation results.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Medicine, Pharmacy, or Nursing.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multicultural team.
- Motivated and prepared to work in nutrition sites under challenging conditions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with conflict-affected populations.
- Experience working with international non-governmental organizations (INGOs).
- Experience in individual and group counseling.
