Job Title Laboratory Technician - Orthopedic Surgeon
Department HealthReport To T2 _leadFunctional TYPE 2 LEADLocation GAZA Type -2 Al Mawasi
Main Purpose
As an UKMED/Orthopedic Surgeon you will supervise and coordinate all aspects of the surgery department. You will ensure the quality of the surgical service in the emergency room, outpatient clinic, operating theatre, inpatient department and dressing room. You will be responsible for providing the best surgical care to patients by working in close collaboration with the team (anaesthetists, operating theatre (OT) nurses, ward nurses and others) and by training the personnel in the operating room and on the surgical ward. Our surgical projects deliver high-quality care, with internationally standardised protocols, hygiene procedures, technical platforms and medical products.
Responsibilities
Surgical Care: Perform preoperative evaluations, surgeries, and postoperative care per UKMED protocols.
Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, hygiene, and risk minimisation standards.
Data Management: Analyse surgical and anaesthesia data to improve outcomes.
Operations Coordination: Manage operating schedules, resources, and emergency response.
Team Leadership: Train, supervise, and evaluate the surgical team while implementing safety policies.
Qualifications and training required
• Specialist orthopedic surgery qualification
• Recent clinical experience (at least six months within the last 24 months)
• At least one-year professional experience post-specialisation
• Willingness to work in various surgical fields (gynaecology/obstetrics, orthopaedics, skin grafts, war surgery)
• IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• English and/or Arabic; any other languages are an asset
• Available for a minimum of six weeks

• Willingness to work in all kinds of contexts, including unstable areas.

Main Purpose - Laboratory Technician
Perform daily clinical laboratory activities as directed by the lab coordinator and lab supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Activities:
Conduct biological analyses (hematology, microscopy, serology, chemistry) following health and safety standards.
Manage inventory and maintain laboratory equipment.
Record data and apply waste disposal procedures.
Blood Safety:
Implement blood transfusion practices and testing per WHO and UKMED guidelines.
Document activities and ensure procedures align with protocols.
Communication:
Coordinate with the lab supervisor and medical team.
Prepare monthly statistical and planning reports.
Requirements
Experience in laboratory operations and equipment handling.
Knowledge of quality, health, and safety systems.
Ability to work under pressure.
Relevant degree and valid lab technician license.
Notes
The role is flexible and subject to change based on project needs.
Compliance with UKMED instructions is integral to the employment contract.
