The Middle East Investment Initiative (MEII), is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Washington DC with three regional offices in Palestine, Jordan, and Tunisia. MEII stimulates sustainable economic activity and long-lasting job creation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) by designing and deploying finance and technical assistance programs to benefit entrepreneurs and MSMEs. Founded with the conviction that the path to social and political stability in the MENA region requires a sound and sustainable economic base, MEII breaks from traditional aid models and designs innovative development finance initiatives that foster economic opportunities and dignity instead of dependency.

MEII- Palestine office is seeking qualified candidates to assume the position of a business advisor, as follows:

The Business Advisor (BA) will provide direct technical assistance to MSMEs participating in Tamweeli’s programs. The BAs will work closely with business owners to enhance their financial literacy, improve accounting and reporting practices, facilitate access to finance, and promote environmental and social performance standards.

This is a hands-on role involving one-on-one business advisory sessions, training delivery, follow-up support, and coordination with ecosystem partners and financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tamweeli Assist

  • Provide one-on-one technical assistance to MSMEs to improve financial literacy, accounting, and reporting practices.​
  • Support MSMEs in the adoption and use of local, off-the-shelf accounting software, ensuring data accuracy and transparency.​
  • Conduct follow-up visits and remote support to help businesses apply learned skills and maintain good financial practices.​
  • Document progress and prepare summary reports for internal monitoring and evaluation.​

2. Tamweeli Academy

  • Facilitate and support interactive training sessions on topics such as accounting, finance, business management, and entrepreneurship.​
  • Deliver blended (in-person and virtual) training sessions using Tamweeli’s digital learning platform.​
  • Recruit and onboard MSMEs into Academy programs, ensuring strong participation and completion rates.​
  • Gather feedback and monitor training outcomes to continuously improve content delivery.​

3. Tamweeli Matchmaking Platform

  • Support the rollout and utilization of the Tamweeli Matchmaking Platform.​
  • Assist MSMEs in preparing their profiles and loan applications through the digital platform.​
  • Help participating banks and MSMEs use the platform effectively to streamline the loan process.​
  • Coordinate with the technical team on system upgrades and ensure smooth platform operations.​

4. Environmental and Social (E&S) Support

  • Perform E&S assessments (questionnaires) to selected MSMEs​
  • Follow-up on the E&S assessments with participating MSMEs in coordination with external E&S consultants.​
  • Track E&S improvements related to areas such as waste management, worker safety, and resource efficiency.​
  • Support delivery of standardized hybrid E&S training modules on the Tamweeli Academy platform, including follow-up coaching sessions.​
  • Promote awareness among MSMEs on responsible and sustainable business practices.​

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics.​
  • 3–5 years of experience working with MSMEs in business advisory, financial literacy, or technical assistance roles.​
  • Strong understanding of financial management, SME operations, and access to finance mechanisms.​
  • Experience delivering or supporting training programs and workshops (in-person or online).​
  • Knowledge of environmental and social (E&S) standards for SMEs is an advantage.​
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.​
  • Excellent organizational and reporting skills.​
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).​
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, online learning tools, and basic accounting software.​
