ACHA is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of:
Position: GBV Officer
Type: Part time contract.
Place: Abdel Shafi community Health Association – Field Office and branches
Contract period: 4 Months

ACHA is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of:
Position: GBV Officer
Type: Part time contract.
Place: Abdel Shafi community Health Association – Field Office and branches
Contract period: 4 Months
Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree with a specialization in areas such as gender studies, humanitarian affairs, human rights, law, social sciences, development studies, international relations, project management and/or related social science fields.
- 2 additional years of relevant experience will be considered if the candidate holds a completed Bachelors’ degree.
- At least 3 years working on GBV preferably dealing with humanitarian projects.
- Experience leading inter-agency coordination mechanisms with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience in utilizing GBV Standard Operating Procedures; IASC Guidelines for Gender-based Violence Interventions in Humanitarian Settings, Core Humanitarian Principles.
- Awareness and demonstrable knowledge of how GBV manifests in humanitarian settings and ability to describe context-specific prevention, GBV risk mitigation, and response actions.
- Demonstrable knowledge of humanitarian emergency operations, including the Cluster System and Humanitarian Program Cycle and roles and responsibilities of key humanitarian actors.
- Ability to self-manage, emotional intelligence, empathy, team spirit, conflict management and negotiating skills.
- Fluency in oral and written Arabic and English is essential.
Job description
- Coordinates the implementation of GBV projects in Emergencies according to the IASC Guidelines for Gender-based Violence Interventions in Humanitarian Settings.
- Supports data collection and consultations in the projects’ lifecycle; monitoring of implementation and drafting of reports.
- Follows up as needed per project coordinator and GBV frontline workers and provide technical backstopping, capacity development/training when needed.
- Supports development of internal GBV program strategies and workplans.
- Provides advice, suggestions and comments to ACHA GBV project proposals, supporting development is aligned with the GBV guiding principles
- Ensures protection mainstreaming, gender equality, disability inclusion, do no harm, PSEA, feedback and complaint mechanisms, localization, cost effectiveness and Leaving no one behind.
- Coordinates with members of PC GBV SWGs and participate in their meetings.
- Quality assurance for GBV activities.
- Reviews progress narrative reports of GBV projects' coordinators.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
