MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate:
 Performs nursing activities required for child care, such as history taking, health education, child measurements and vaccination;
 Carries out nursing activities in dental clinics as and when required;
 Assists in carrying out antenatal care, e.g., history taking, health education, counselling, measuring weight, height and blood pressure, vaccination and performing urine and blood tests, where required;
 Carries out nursing activities of the diabetic and hypertension cases, such as history taking, health education, counselling, measuring height, blood pressure and weight and home-visiting activities for growth retarded, anaemic, defaulter;
 Carries out general nursing functions, such as preparation and execution of dressing, injections, temperature taking, weighing and measuring blood pressure;
 Keeps an account of received and used medical supplies needed for the nursing activities;
 Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
 Completion of full secondary education and completion of not less than eighteen months’ training course in practical nursing, OR
 Completion of secondary education (nursing branch).
 At least two years of satisfactory working experience as a practical nurse.
 Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
 It is desirable to have Diploma or certificate in midwifery or public health nursing.
 Working experience in the provision of maternal and child health care.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE- FIXED TERM POST
 Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary $600.10; plus a supplementary allowance 33%; and a currency adjustment factor (present rate 17%.) and monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25.
 Contract Duration: Three years including 1 year probation period.
 Leave: 30 days annual leave
 Pension: Provident Fund contribution
 Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE- LDC POST
 Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary $ 667.50; plus a currency adjustment factor (present rate 17%).
 Contract Duration: One year.
 Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.
 A regular staff member can apply to the LDC post but will not be allowed to assume such post through secondment as he/she needs to leave his/her current post to accept LDC appointment
EQUIVALENCY Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered ASSESSMENT METHOD
