The Palestinian Youth Union is an independent civil association working in the Palestinian territories in the field of community development, with a special focus on youth.
The Palestinian Youth Union (PYU) is implementing a new project titled: MED NET Civil society and independent media alliance for democracy, under the call: Strengthening the capacities of Non State Actors – Action in partner countries (Multi country), funded By the EU in partnership with COSPE for the period of 30 months.
The PYU is seeking to hire qualified and motivated employees for the following vacancies at PYU headquarters – Ramallah, with extensive travelling to the field: (I)
JOB TITLE: work group’s coordinator (two posts)
REPORTS TO: The project coordinator
CONTRACT AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Full time job, 30 months contract, 40 working hours weekly
PURPOSE:
The work group coordinator will be responsible of the implementation of project activities in field, with direct supervision of the project coordinator, with special focus on CBOs and independent media.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
-University degree in a related field (Journalism, sociology, development are preferable)
-Two years of experience in youth empowerment orand media development
-Active in social work,
-Good English language and writing skills.
-Excellent knowledge of Palestinian social and political situation.
-Excellent knowledge of the Palestinian Civil Society and NGOs.
-High communication skills and experience in advocacy campaigns.

-Innovative, flexible and proactive personality
-Hard worker and result-oriented
-Ability to handle work stress, time pressure and difficult situations efficiently
-Willing to travel in the field, spending extra working hours and working during weekends if necessary.
