Gender Project Officer - Oxfam GB - West bank and Jerusalem

Gender Project Officer- BASED IN JERUSALEM AND WB

16 months fixed – term contract
We are looking for a person to work with the Oxfam team and Partners in the West Bank to promote gender equity in the olive oil sector
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Support and advice partners in the development, implementation and monitoring and management of Gender Equality program.
-Visit projects, monitor partners’ activities and work- plans; draw attention to successes and challenges faced in the programme.
-Organize workshops and network meetings for partners and ensure timely and effective arrangements, prepare minutes and its distribution.
-Initiate and undertake documentation drawing from the program experience and wider gender debates.
-Analysis and communication of some complex information at a simple level to a wide audience to promote and influence
-Monitor implementation of the Gender Equity Response Plan and report on its in accordance with project indicators and outcomes
-Communication largely with project team and partners organizations, also with some external contacts / target audiences to support operational work.
-Assist on other task as requested by the Policy Coordinator.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
-Education to a degree level in gender studies, social sciences or related discipline.
-An understanding of and experience of working in the development sector
-An understanding and sensitivity to poverty, gender and diversity issues
-Good organisational awareness.
-Effective member of team and role model; demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team, and promotes high standards.
-Takes responsibility for own work and delegated project/processes (including some leadership).
-Anticipates problems and regularly provides solutions.
-Excellent oral and written communication and writing skills in English and Arabic.
-Knowledge and skills in computer usage
-Willingness and fitness to travel for sustained periods of time
