Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need around the world.

Save the Children has been working in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (oPt) since 1973 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration. Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, Health, and Livelihoods throughout the West Bank and Gaza.

Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the position of Documentation Officer to be based at its Gaza Office with frequent travel to the field sites.
The post holder will conduct various documentation duties to help in developing high-quality communications materials based on information gathered from a wide range of sources, including primary data and personal interviews with children and families, to support our documentation needs, communications, reporting, media, and advocacy requirements.

S/he will also support a range of other functions, including communications and visibility planning, advocacy training, translation, design of communications tools and other capacity building support to partners, branding, and sub-grant management support.
She reports to the Communications Senior Manager.

Requirements
-University degree in Social Sciences: Journalism & Media, Business Administration, Literature or a related field.
-At least 4 years of similar experience in a recognized local or international NGO.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload within tight deadlines.
-Ability to conduct interviews with children and families and to record primary statements.
-Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies.
-A full appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a team environment.
-Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic with strong reporting skills.
