University College of Applied Sciences (UCAS) has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) - Education to Work Transition Project –


Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank for the project entitled: Pal Apps. This project aims to build the capacity of IT students in the field of programming and development of mobile applications. Accordingly, UCAS seeks the selection and employment of a Project Coordinator to work in project implementation.

Assignment Objective
UCAS is considering the selection of highly qualified Project Coordinator to be part of the administrative staff responsible for the overall implementation and coordination of the Project activities under the supervision of the Project director.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all activities relating to the following tasks:

1. Ensure the successful implementation of the project through preparing project implementation plan and providing adequate following up for the project activities.
2. Preparing and evaluating for all issues related to hiring consultants.
3. Managing financial issues and preparing procurement plan, financial reports incompliance with donor’s regulations and UCAS finance office regulations.
4. Preparation of progress reports as required.
5. Leading the project team and ensuring team coherence and motivation.
6. Evaluation and monitoring of project progress at all stages of the project.

Qualifications& skills:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, IT or any relevant field

- Minimum of 3 years experience preferably in a coordination role
- Strong planning and coordination skills
- Very good communication skills
- Very good technical reporting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project Management Software
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders and others contracted in the course of work
- Fluency in English and Arabic(written and spoken)

Place of work:
The Project Coordinator will work in UCAS buildings.


Time Frame:
The duration of the assignment is 35 Months; the consultant shall work 7 Hours per day, 5 days per week.
