Water Resources Expert - Action Against Hunger - Gaza
Action Against Hunger (ACF) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-political, non-denominational and non-profit making organisation working in the Palestinian Territory since 2002.
ACF is recruiting for its Gaza office a Water Resources Expert For a duration of 8 months
The Candidate will:
-Prepare TOR for the topographic survey for uncovered areas in the three governorates in order to delineate and map the sub-catchments.
-Calculating the quantity of water runoff for each sub-catchment.
-Produce maps of existing storm water drainage infrastructures and flooding areas in order to identify the most vulnerable locations.
-Prepare the TOR for soil test to identify the soil characteristics.
-Study and design of the proposed stormwater harvesting systems: a detailed design for each identified stormwater harvesting system will be produced. This will include drawings and Bill of Quantities.
-Produce a Stormwater Master Plan.
-Assist in identifying the location of the proposed three pilot storm water harvesting systems based on the priorities identified in the Stormwater Master Plan and vulnerability selection criteria.
-Prepare the follow-up and monitoring schemes for each structure and train CMWU technical staff on applying them; including the schedule for water sampling and testing.
-Provide Stormwater Master Plan report focusing on findings, conclusions and recommended actions, supported by summaries of the data collected and citations of any references used in interpreting the data. Detailed or uninterrupted data are not appropriate in the main text and should be presented in appendices or a separate volume.
-Other reports required regarding the design, training and monitoring will be prepared focusing on the lessons learned and recommendations for improvement.
Profile of the Candidate:
-Master degree in Water Management Resources, and ground water specialist.
-At least 6years of experience in water and sanitation.
-Worked or participated in at least one similar project.
-Good experience in GIS, surface and ground water modeling programmers.
-Experience in training technical staff.
-Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
