Construction Projects Coordinator - Qatar Charity - Gaza


Qatar Charity (QC) is an International Non-Governmental Organization and it’s been in Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 1997


and was a member of the General Founding Conference of the Arab Network for NGOs. QC, Gaza Office invites candidates to apply for the following position:
Title:Construction Projects Coordinator

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Construction Projects Coordinator (CPC) is vested with providing technical services and ensuring adherence to sound engineering standards. The CPC will supervise and coordinate projects implementation and provide engineering services within his area of discipline to ensure compliance with QC engineering policies and regulations. The CPC will conduct and provide all necessary monitoring and reportingprocedures and deliverables.

JOB DESCREPTION
1-To monitor and assign work to Site Engineers in accordance with QC’s policies and procedures and limits of project owner.
2-To monitor and control expenses related to project work and ensure organizational forecasts and budgets are met for these expenses.
3-To handle procurement activities relating to contracts and sub contracts in accordance with QC procedures and procurement activities, in cooperation with Procurement Officer.
4-To assist in preparing Terms of Reference and ensure transparent selection for consultants,follow consultants’ performance and compliance.
5-Assist in developing forms and tools requested to improve the work process.
6-To undertake team briefings and inception activities to ensure all aspects of work are understood by concerned parties.
7-To ensure safety standards and procedures are implemented and followed in accordance with contract requirements and QC guidelines.
8-To undertake Quality Control reporting interaction with other concerned parties to assure production schedules and deliveries are met.
9-To act as a liaison with contractors and clients managing any work interfaces and enhancements to project scope.
10-To review and evaluate technical submittals and shop drawings prior to submission to consultants, contractors and clients according to required project standards.
11-To assist Procurement officer in preparation of contract agreements.
12-To carry out contract administration duties as directed, including the preparation and/or revision of bills of quantities (BOQs), cost estimates for quantities and materials, specifications, interim and final payment certificates, etc.
13-To perform such other duties as may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Not limited to the followings; Planning, Deciding, Implementing, Coordination, Supervising, Directing, Controlling, Motivating, Checking, and Developing Relationship.
SAFETY AND QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Maintain standards of safety and comply with QC’s Health, safety & environment management system requirements.
-Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace.
-Follow and maintain standards of quality in accordance with QC Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
-Bachelor of Civil Engineering, with minimum 10 years related work experience and 4 years as site engineer role.
-Planning and analytical skills.
-Project management.
-Procurement & engineering knowledge.
-Team leadership, supervisory, and negotiation Skills.
-Computer Skills, word, excel, access, MS-project, AutoCAD.
-Valid driver’s license.
-Good knowledge of English and Arabic.
-An understanding of and commitment to QC’s mission and values
