A three year (2014-2016) partnership project has been developed by SOS Children’s Villages Palestine (SOS PS)

and Rural Women’s Development Society (RWDS) with the support of SOS Children’s Villages Denmark (SOS DK) and the Danish-Palestinian Friendship Association (DPFA) and funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). The project “Strengthening Community Responses to Economic and Social Marginalisation of Vulnerable Families in Hebron” contributes to the ongoing Family Strengthening Programme (FS) run by SOS PS that empowers communities and families in order to prevent child abandonment and child rights violations. The project’s main objectives are: to strengthen community based organizations’ (CBOs) ability to support vulnerable families, to increase use of psychosocial services and well-being within the communities, and to improve educational and vocational performance of participating children. To support the implementation of this project, the partners are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the following position:
Position Title: Project Coordinator
Location: Hebron, with occasional travel to Bethlehem and Ramallah
Duration: Duration of contract (12) months with the possibility of extension up to the end of the project.
The Project Coordinator is the main person responsible for implementing activities, monitoring and evaluation in accordance with the guidelines of DANIDA. He/She will be responsible for the following:

Tasks and Responsibilities:
-Ensure good cooperation and a common understanding between all participating project stakeholders (SOS PS, RWDS, CBOs) in order to achieve the project’s objectives and in close collaboration with the project steering committee through open communication, facilitation and resolving potential conflicts.
-Prepare the project’s action plans (general, annual, monthly) in coordination with FS Program staff
-Prepare monthly and quarterly budgets with field staff and accountants ensuring that the project’s budget lines are followed; submit payments and invoices as required
-Implement project activities according to the deadlines and the guidelines of the donor (DANIDA) through coordination and regular meetings with all stakeholders (project staff, FS staff, CBOs, external consultants, etc.)
-Report monthly to steering committee on progress of activity implementation and budget expenditure
-Facilitate project evaluation processes including baseline assessment, final evaluation and sharing lessons learned
-Coordinate all project visits (both local and international visitors)
-Additional tasks as necessary as determined by the steering committee to ensure successful project implementation.
Qualifications:
-Master’s Degree in a relevant field (preferably business administration, project management, social work or development studies).
-At Least three years of professional experience (in NGOs, CSOs or donor institutions), knowledge and proven practice in Project Cycle Management (PCM)
-Knowledge of Logical Framework Approach (LFA), planning, monitoring and evaluation, results-based planning and implementation
-Firm understanding of planning and budgeting processes, understanding of financial management and basic bookkeeping.
-Awareness of /Interest in human rights, development , social and gender issues.
-Fluency in English and Arabic, written and verbal language skills.
-Excellent communication skills: ability to present information in a clear and concise manner, ability to document information for different target groups, effective liaison, networking and team-building skills; capacity to manage a multi-faceted project.
-Computer skills: sound knowledge of standard software (Ms Office and others)
-Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
-Ability to set priorities, work under pressure and handle stress, to plan and work systematically towards deadlines, maintain positive attitude and take decisions.
