TERMS OF REFERENCE
Position: Driver (8 Position)
Place of Performance: Gaza
Contract Duration: One year with possibility of extension

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Purpose and Scope of Assignment:
-Ensures provision of reliable and secure driving services by driving vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items between the sites;
-Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
-Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.
-Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, and map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
-Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents
-Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Education:
-Secondary education
-A current valid driving license in Gaza’s Strip is essential for private vehicles. Truck and passenger bus driving license is desired;
Work Experience:
-At least 4-5 years of relevant experience as a driver; safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair;
-Experience in UN or NGOs is highly preferred;
-Valid Driving License. Truck and passenger bus driving license is desired

-Prepared to work additional hours to ensure timely delivery of Project.

-Good organizational skills, sound judgment and decision making.
-Good interpersonal and communication skills in both verbal and written form.
Languages:
-Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is essential. Intermediate language skills in English. Hebrew is an asset.
