Reports to Mission Lead
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Site Management and Program Implementation
- Oversee the day-to-day management of child protection activities at the assigned site, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Manage staff and resources efficiently to ensure effective service delivery.
- Coordinate with the logistics and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of necessary materials for the project.
- Work closely with the Child Protection Specialist and technical advisors to ensure high standards, while leaving technical oversight to the latter.
Human Resources and Team Management
- Supervise Child Protection Officers and oversee their management of Child Protection Assistants.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to staff, ensuring that staff scheduling, and daily tasks are effectively managed.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
Financial and Administrative Oversight
- Manage the budget for the specific child protection project, ensuring expenditures align with donor requirements.
- Lead procurement planning for the site and oversee the distribution of supplies and inventory management.
- Ensure administrative records and financial documentation are maintained accurately.
Coordination and Reporting
- Act as the primary focal point for the assigned site, representing the project in local coordination meetings with partners, community members, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit timely reports on project progress, outcomes, and challenges.
- Ensure that project data is collected and analyzed according to project requirements, in collaboration with the Monitoring & Evaluation team.
Compliance and Security
- Ensure compliance with International Medical Corps policies and child protection standards.
- Assess security risks related to child protection interventions at the site and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
- Uphold IMC's Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Child Protection, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong organizational and team management skills.
- Experience managing program budgets and overseeing procurement processes.
- Knowledge of child protection principles and case management.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a challenging environment.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in Arabic is preferred.
Work Conditions:
- The position requires working shifts, including morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
- The role involves being available for emergency services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- The Child Protection Services operate continuously to ensure the safety and well-being of children in all situations.
