In Palestine, the objectives of the programs are to limit the medical impact of the restrictions in accessing medical care on the Palestinian population, to improve mental health and psychosocial care and to bear witness to the violations of the right to health.

The role of an Emergency Medical Doctor with Médecins du Monde (MDM) involves conducting medical consultations (both general and specialized) and improving the quality of treatment. Specifically, the Emergency Medical Doctor is responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating emergency activities. The main objective is to provide immediate and effective medical care to patients in emergency situations, often in challenging and resource-limited settings. This includes delivering urgent medical treatment, managing and supervising the emergency room and its staff, ensuring quality care through adherence to MDM protocols, training and developing local medical staff, and adapting to diverse and often unstable environments to meet the healthcare needs of vulnerable populations.

As an Emergency Room (ER) Doctor with Médecins du Monde (MdM), your main tasks will include:
- Immediate Medical Emergency Response: Provide immediate medical emergency response, including trauma and wound care, management of various scale medical emergencies, prehospital management, stabilization, and referral.
- Supervision and Technical Support: Oversee all medical emergency care within the MdM Clinic, offering technical support to the medical team, including nurses and midwives, and ensure collaboration with other services.
- Protocol and Guideline Management: Gather and adapt protocols and guidelines, supervise adherence, and ensure compliance with medical ethics and quality assurance tools.
- Daily Work Organization and Health Consultations: Organize daily work in the clinic, provide free curative and preventive health consultations, maintain stock, and manage patient pathways.
- Training, Data Collection, and Reporting: Support training processes, collect and analyze health data, monitor and report to improve care quality, and attend relevant meetings.

- Immediate Medical Emergency Response:
- Trauma and Wound Care: Provide immediate care for injuries, including cleaning, suturing, and dressing wounds to prevent infection and promote healing.
- Management of Medical Emergencies: Handle various scale emergencies such as cardiac arrests, respiratory distress, and severe allergic reactions, ensuring rapid assessment and intervention. This mandates being able to lead BLS, ACLS, PTC, ERTC interventions.
- Prehospital Management: Stabilize patients before they are transported to the hospital, ensuring they receive necessary care end route.
- Stabilization nd Referral: Stabilize patients in critical condition and coordinate their referral to specialized facilities for further treatment.
- Supervision and Technical Support:
- Medical Care Oversight: Supervise all medical emergency care provided within the MdM Clinic, ensuring high standards of practice.
- Technical Support: Provide guidance and support to the medical clinic team, including nurses, midwives, and other healthcare professionals, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
- Collaboration: Foster good communication and collaboration with other services within the clinic and external healthcare providers, ensuring a cohesive approach to patient care.
- Activity Reporting: Regularly report on the activities and performance of the medical services, identifying areas for improvement.
- Protocol and Guideline Management:
- Protocol Adaptation: Gather and adapt medical protocols and guidelines with assistance from the medical manager/supervisor to suit the specific needs of the clinic.
- Adherence: Ensure that the emergency unit team strictly follow the established protocols and guidelines, maintaining consistency in patient care.
- Compliance with Medical Ethics: Implement protocols that ensure compliance with medical ethics, safeguarding patient rights and dignity.
- Daily Work Organization and Health Consultations:
- Health Consultations: Provide free-of-charge curative and preventive health consultations, addressing a wide range of medical issues and promoting overall health.
- Provide primary health care consultations as needed, based on patient load and time availability
- Stock Maintenance: Maintain adequate stock levels of medical supplies and equipment, advising on procurement and purchasing as needed.
- Training, Data Collection, and Reporting:
- Meeting Attendance: Attend relevant meetings to discuss clinic performance, share knowledge, and collaborate on strategies for improvement.
- Other Duties :
- Suggestions for Improvement: Provide recommendations to enhance the functioning of MdM clinics.
- Contribute to IPC responsibilities including daily tasks, and applying national and international IPC protocols.
- Logistics Support: Assist in loading and unloading vehicles and setting up clinics.
- Flexibility: Adapt to various duties to ensure beneficiaries receive high-quality services.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as requested by the clinic’ focal .
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
Education:
- Mandatory: [Medical Doctor Degree+ license to practice Medicine.]
- Desirable: [, Emergency medicine board certification or any emergency medicine post graduate degree]
- ACLS, BLS, ERTC, PTC, PALS training is an asset
Experience:
- Mandatory: 3 Years cumulative post graduate clinical experience
- Desirable: Non- Governmental Organization experience / one year eexperience in working in the emergency/humanitarian situations. One year of experience at PHC setting
Languages:
- Mandatory: Strong communication skills in English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
Computer Skills:
- Mandatory: Proficiency in [MS, ERP, others]

- Active listening and quick comprehension in high-stress situations
